Microsorb Amino 100Å Series
Agilent Microsorb Amino is an aminopropylsilane-covered silica that is typically used in the separation of polysaccharides with molecular weights below 2000. The typical mobile phase in this application is acetonitrile/water, and separation is based on a complex mixture of interactions. Amino columns generally exhibit higher efficiencies for carbohydrate analysis than ionic gel-based columns. In addition, Amino columns can be used in the normal phase mode with typical normal phase solvents. When operating in this mode, separations are similar to those of unbonded silica, but with much shorter gradient reequilibration times.
