Agilent PetroSpher Series (SOARA Analysis)

PetroSpher A is specially developed to perform the SOARA analysis (saturates, olefins, aromatics, resins and asphaltenes) as published by Guy Felix et al. (Journal of Liquid Chromatography, 10 (1987) 2115-2132). With this column saturates or olefins can be separated from mono- and polyaromatics. This phase perfectly separates highly alkylated aromatics from saturates, which is unique property of this material.

Separation of mono-, di- and poly-aromatics requires a distinct selectivity, which PetroSpher B offers. Mono- and di-aromatics elute from PetroSpher B as two discrete peaks. The results obtained with PetroSpher B for this type of separation are therefore easy to interpret.
