The ProPac protein columns are ion exchange columns designed specifically to provide high-resolution and high efficiency separations of proteins and glycoproteins (pI=3-10, MW>10,000DA). The stationary phase is composed of 10µm non-porous, solvent compatible ethylvinylbenzene-divinylbenzene copolymer beads which are surrounded by a highly hydrophilic, neutral polymer to
reduce non-specific interactions between the surface and the biopolymer. For the weak cation exchange column (ProPac WCX-10), the surface is grafted with carboxylic acid groups. For the strong cation exchanger (ProPac SCX-10), the surface is grafted with sulfonic acid groups.
