Agilent Hi-Plex Pb (USP L34) uses a lead-based counter-ion to provide selectivity differences through its ability to interact with the hydroxyl groups -- the secondary ligand-exchange mechanism. Hi-Plex columns typically use isocratic conditions with water as the eluent and temperature as the main variable for resolution control.
